As our last event of the 2023-24 season in cooperation with Warren Norgaard’s Milkweed Studio, Arizona Glass Alliance will host a presentation by the very interesting painter turned glass artist Tim Carey. Many of you may remember seeing the fascinating documentary film “Holy Frit” which featured Tim and followed the creation of the “Resurrection Window” for a major church in Kansas City by Tim and the stained glass master Narcissus Qualiata. The massive and wonderfully beautiful window, which measures 40 by 100 feet, created opportunities for Tim to pursue new frontiers as a stained glass artist, transforming glass into a beautiful, painterly image.
Since then Tim has grown his practice to include custom commissioned artwork for private homes and public spaces, creation of unique works in glass that balance between realism and abstraction, and educating students in the wonders of glass. Tim’s works have been published in Glass Art Magazine and the Stained Glass Quarterly, and he has taught at the American Glass Guild and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. An image of one of Tim’s recent works in shown below, and to learn more about Tim and see more of his work please visit his website, www.timcarey.com.
This is your chance to meet a real life movie star and get to know him and his work “up close and personal”!
