On Monday evening, Arizona Glass Alliance will very proudly host presentations by two of our own artists, Jacki Cohen and Steve Hagan. Jacki is a self taught kilnformed glass artist whose spirit was awakened by a stained glass class over 20 years ago. Jacki employs an intricate technique of layering prefired component pieces on a larger glass canvass, using an array of vibrant colors, shapes and textures to create depth and interest to her pieces. Jacki’s work has been featured in AZTV Holiday Gift Guide, Fox News Made in Arizona TV feature, Glamour magazine and the 2023 Hidden in the Hills catalogue cover.
Steve Hagan received his BFA from the Tyler School of Art and his MFA from Southern Illinois University. With more than 25 years of glass studio experience Steve has worked around the US as an artist, educator and glassblower. Currently Steve runs High Priority Studio together with Mark Leputa. Steve’s citrus inspired sculptures come from a love of the natural patterns in the fruits and an upbringing in professional kitchens, combining his two greatest passions, food and glass.
