On Sunday evening, Arizona Glass Alliance will very happily host a presentation by glass artist Deanna Clayton. Deanna is a master of the pate de verre technique (paste of glass) and her work is very beautiful and distinctive. You’ll recognize Deanna’s vessels and figures in many private collections across the country. Deanna has taught her technique in leading schools such as Corning and the Cleveland Institute of Art, and she is represented by major galleries including Habatat and Duncan McClellan.
Deanna’s work combines skillful technique with beautiful form and texture to create iconic sculptural pieces. Deanna says this about working with glass: “I love the versatility and freshness of glass as an artistic medium. The potential for expression in contemporary glass is limitless.”
An example of Deanna’s work is shown below and to see more of her work and learn more about her please visit her website, www.deannaclaytonglass.com.
