Mary Clerkin Higgins Presentation

November 14 7:30 PM Stonegate Clubhouse 11551 E. Mountain View Rd. Scottsdale, AZ

On Monday evening on the 14th, Arizona Glass Alliance will host a presentation by Mary Clerkin Higgins, an award winning artist and conservator who has worked in stained glass since 1976. Mary’s new work has been selected for Corning Museum’s New Glass Review 37 and received an AGNX award of excellence from the American Glass Guild’s juried show. She has written about, lectured internationally, and restored stained glass from the 12th century to the present for numerous museums and institutions around the country and internationally, while also creating new works of art at her Brooklyn studio. Among the institutions that have turned to Mary for her stained glass conservation expertise are Harvard University, The Nasher Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the United Nations and many others.

Mary’s talk, which is titled “Let’s See What Emerges”, will focus on her unique individual pieces, but she’ll also give us a little insight on her work as a conservator as well. An image of one of Mary’s current individual pieces is shown below, and for more information about Mary take a look at her website, www.clerkinhigginsstainedglass.com.

For reservations contact Fred Schomer by email.
