“Divergent Materiality” Exhibition

Saturday, May 25 7:00 PM Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art

The new exhibition of art made from glass which we previously announced will open at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art on May 25. The exhibition, which is entitled “Divergent Materiality: Contemporary Glass Art”, is largely drawn from the collections of four members of Arizona Glass Alliance, and is in part supported by a grant from Arizona Glass Alliance as well as individual contributions from members of the Alliance. A special thank you to Gail and Dan Tenn who spearheaded the successful effort to make this exhibition a reality. As part of the opening of the exhibition, the Director and Chief Curator of the Museum, Jennifer McCabe, will be giving members of Arizona Glass Alliance a walk through of the exhibition and will discuss the exhibition from her perspective as Chief Curator. This will be a great chance for you all the see the exhibition and to learn perspectives on its’ creation from the curator’s point of view.

The Schomer’s and Tenn’s will be having dinner at 5:30 that evening at Los Olivos Restaurant, next to the museum. All are invited to join for dinner, and then walk next door to the exhibition. (Individuals are responsible for paying their own dinners). Contact Dan Tenn if you would like to have a space reserved.
