Brent Cole Presentation

Monday, March 23, 2020 7:30 PM Scottsdale Ranch Clubhouse 10585 N. 100th St. Scottsdale, AZ

On Monday evening, Arizona Glass Alliance will host a presentation by the noted glass artist and educator Brent Cole. Brent is the head of the glass program at the Ball State University School of Art in Muncie, Indiana. Brent’s previous positions have included a stint as an assistant professor at the University of Miami at Coral Gables, and as a Fulbright Scholar at the Geppert Academy of Fine Art in Wroclaw, Poland.

Brent describes his work as a studio artist this way: “My work utilizes natural and man-made navigational tools to describe metaphorical and contextual environments.” To the viewer Brent’s work often has a serene, somewhat mysterious aspect that makes the viewer question what’s going on in the piece, drawing you into the situation. Brent often uses a wide variety of materials and techniques in his work, including blown, cast and fused pieces. An example of Brent’s work is shown below, and to see more of his very interesting sculptures take a look at his website, www.brent-cole.com.

Brent’s work has been exhibited in major art shows such as SOFA and Art Basel Miami, and has also been exhibited in museum and gallery shows across the country as well as internationally. Brent combines the best of both an independent artist as well as an accomplished educator and you’ll find him to be very interesting.
