On Monday evening, Dec. 11, in cooperation with Warren Norgaard’s Milkweed Studio, Arizona Glass Alliance will proudly host a presentation by glass artist Kate Clements. Kate uses frit to create wonderful, very delicate, wafer thin dimensional floral panels and installations. In her creations Kate explores her ideas of beauty, taste and impermanence.
A graduate of the Tyler School of Art, Kate has been awarded residencies at such diverse places as Pilchuck and the S12 Gallery in Bergen, Norway, and her work has been exhibited at galleries in Chicago, New York and Norway. Kate’s work has also been featured in magazines such as American Craft Magazine, five different issues of the Corning New Glass Review and Vogue Gioiello. Kate is a delightful person and very talented artist who has a great career ahead of her, and an image of one of her installations is shown below. This evening will be a real opportunity to get to know a young artist on her way up.
