Wesley Neal Rasko Presentation

Monday, January 8, 2017 7:30 PM Scottsdale Ranch Clubhouse 10585 N. 100th Street Scottsdale, AZ

As our first event of 2018, Arizona Glass Alliance will proudly sponsor a presentation by glass sculptor and painter Wesley Neal Rasko. Wesley, who was born in Canada and now splits his time between the US and the Czech Republic, had an introductory stint of education at the Alberta College of Art and Design. Early in his career Wesley was fortunate to serve an apprenticeship with the well known Czech artist, Bohumil Elias, and Elias’ influence can be seen in Wesley’s work, but taken to a new level.

To quote Wesley “I’ve learnt largely through 18 years of trial and error, research and development and inner growth. Continuously trying to push the limits in both creativity and craftsmanship; I continue to explore various avenues of glass as a medium including the combination of painted laminated glass, optical crystal, cast glass and exotic stone.”

You will find Wesley’s work to be clean, elegant and sculptural, with very interesting interplays of shape, color, texture and transparency. Wesley will be bringing several brand new sculptures with him to Phoenix and an image of one is shown below. To see more of Wesley’s sculptures, as well as his paintings, visit his website, www.wnrglass.com.

Wesley’s work has been exhibited around the world in such diverse places as Canada, the Czech Republic, England, Holland, France and of course the US, and you’ll find it in museums in the US as well as Germany, China and Belgium. Here in the US Wesley is represented by numerous galleries, including Habatat and Coda Gallery in Palm Springs.

This event will be held at the Scottsdale Ranch Clubhouse which is located at 10585 N. 100th Street, just south of Shea in Scottsdale, and will begin at 7:30.
